Angel Wing Scavenger Hunt // Colette Miller

Colette Miller is an artist and documentary film maker. She is most commonly known for her street art interactive human angel wings that have been placed around the world. I have always been intrigued by these "so called" angel wings, and I have been wanting to find a pair. Once I finally did my research to find them, I decided to make this a scavenger hunt. My hunt began in DTLA in the Arts District, and I was so thrilled to find my first pair. I must say, they are beautiful.

So Halloween is around the corner and even though its still 83 degrees outside, cough' cough' southern California fall weather, the spooky holiday inspired my outfit today.

Free People DIY // flower canvas

Today I found myself with nothing to do. Like pretty much every other girl in this world, I am obsessed with Pinterest. Another thing I am obsessed with is Free People and EVERYTHING to do with FP. If you know anything about Free People you know that once you walk into their doors all you see is DIY heaven!!! I have always dreamed of having a bedroom that resembled a Free People store, so today I was going to start and try and make that happen.

Supplies you will need:
- A blank canvas
- Fake flowers of your favorite colors
- Pins
- Spray Paint color of choice
- Or optional instead of pins, glue gun

Step one:
Spray paint blank canvas with the color that suits you best.
Step two:
Let canvas dry for one hour

 Step three:
Cut all of the fake flowers petals apart and begin to place on canvas in a decoration that you like best.
My inspiration:

Step four:
Pin all the petals down! Easy as that!

Little Weekend Getaway

Aaaah.. Camping. I don't know about you guys, but camping was not exactly what I thought it would be. I mean, I did realize that I would be sleeping on the hard ground in the middle of a forest, but I did not really imagine how it would realllllly be.. if you know what I mean. All I can say is that I am very happy that I experienced the "great outdoors," but I think I am going to stay in a hotel next time :) hehe. Here are a few pictures that I shot from my iPhone.

Spontaneous Catalina trip.. caught by an iphone

Catalina has been a place that I have been wanting to explore for ages. When my boyfriend and I were stuck with no plans on labor day we decided to pack our backpacks and ride the 90 minute long ferry over. We might both be $70 dollars poorer, but it was such an unbelievably beautiful island and I am so thrilled that I got to explore it.  I didn't know what the day had in store for us so I decided to wear my most comfortable outfit.. soft shorts and my favorite Topshop "birkenstocks". I cannot wait to return to Catalina, it was the perfect place for the perfect day.

The T-Shirt Dress

So lately I have been seeing so many girls wearing t-shirt dresses, and I wanted to jump on that bandwagon. I must say, they are pretty darn comfortable and it feels like I never got out of my pjs.. so that's amazing. You can pair a t-shirt dress with basically any type of shoe, and you can easily dress them up or down. I thought the simple white bootie gave this grey t-shirt that "not trying" look that I always try to achieve. thumbs up for t-shirt dresses!
